PetPlate Logo

PetPlate Introduction:

Renaldo Webb and his dog Winston founded PetPlate. Renaldo was looking for healthy solutions for his four-legged friend and was unhappy with what he found in the pet food department. So with training as a consultant, he moved into a commercial kitchen. He consulted with veterinarian Dr Renee Streeter to formulate recipes using high-quality ingredients and the appropriate vitamins and minerals.

Renaldo appeared on Shark Tank in late 2016 but didn’t get any funding. But PetPlate has thrived regardless, and Pet Plate prepares all of its meals with high quality, human-grade ingredients. The food is then frozen for chemical-free storage and to maintain freshness when feeding the dog. In addition to high-quality food, Pet Plate stands out in the market by offering subscription deliveries for more variety and convenience.

PetPlate Menu:

Food for your dog is delivered by Pet Plate, a meal delivery service that offers real, fresh, and prepared food. Create personalized, nutritious meals that are delivered to your door. Pet Plate offers four different flavours to choose from:

Beef Rind – acombination of beef, apples, beef liver, carrots, potatoes, and stirred turkey – a combination of turkey, apples, rice, carrots, turkey liver, and pumpkin

Lip Licking lamb – a combination of lamb, apples, broccoli, lamb liver, quinoa, and sweet chicken chewable with potatoes

Chomping Chicken- a combination of chicken, sweet potatoes, apples, lentils, flax seeds and green beans.

Beef is the very first component in this dog food recipe. Beef is defined as “clean meat from slaughtered cattle” and includes the tongue’s skeletal muscles or muscle tissue, diaphragm, heart or esophagus. Beef is naturally rich in ten essential amino acids that a dog needs to survive.

The second ingredient includes the sweet potato. Because they are gluten-free, sweet potatoes are an excellent source of complex carbohydrates in dog food. They include naturally occurring high levels of dietary fibre and beta-carotene, both of which are helpful to your health.

The third ingredient is potato, a source of gluten-free digestible carbohydrates. However, with the possible exception of their calorie content, potatoes have only modest nutritional value for a dog.

The next ingredient is beef liver, a slice of organ meat obtained from an animal called and considered a beneficial component.

The fifth entry lists carrots, which are rich in beta-carotene, minerals, and dietary fibre.

The sixth inclusion is the apple, nutrient-dense fruit that is also high in the thread.

The seventh ingredient lists peas. Peas are a source of quality carbohydrates. And like all legumes, they are rich in natural fibres. However, peas contain around 25% protein, a factor that must be taken into account when judging the meat content of this dog food.

The eighth ingredient is pumpkin, a nutritional addition rich in carbohydrate complex, beta-carotene, and dietary fibre.

The ninth ingredient is dicalcium phosphate, probably used here as a calcium-based nutritional supplement.

Nutrient Analysis

Based on ingredients alone, PetPlate Fresh Dog Food feels like an above-average wet product. The dashboard shows a dry matter protein content of 31%, a fat content of 22% and carbohydrates estimated at around 39%. The brand has an average protein content of 29 percent and an average fat level of 16 percent when seen as a collective whole. Taking these statistics together, it appears that the total carbohydrate content for the entire product line is 46 percent. In addition, the protein content is approximately 55%.

This means this PetPlate product contains Above-average protein—fat below average. And above-average carbohydrates compared to typical fresh dog food. Even when considering the protein effect of peas, it still looks like the profile of fresh dog food that contains a substantial amount of meat.

Pros:

Fresh dog food of the highest quality. The meal is of exceptional quality, and there is nothing else like it. They are 100% human-grade ingredients made from fresh meat, fruits and vegetables and without any by-products, preservatives or artificial ingredients. Nutritionally balanced. All recipes are designed by their own veterinary nutritionist, so they contain all the vitamins and minerals your puppy needs. delivered directly to your door.

You just can’t beat the convenience of having it delivered right to your door. It makes our life that easy way to know that we never have to worry about missing out. This is delicious! Not that we’ve tried it (even though it’s a human-grade product!), But Cashew is absolutely crazy about it—incredible digestion.

Our dog Cashew has the best digestion, thanks to Pet Plate. He never has a problem. His stool is excellent (solid, well-shaped, and doesn’t stink too much), and he barely farted. This is a huge sign that his body is doing well with the food. Sweets! You can now add their Chicken and Apple Sausage Nuggets to an order.

 Cons:

need space in the freezer. Depending on the size of your dog, you can get a decent amount of food at a time, and you need to have freezer space or a freezer. We have a freezer, so that’s not a problem, but we should be selective about what other frozen products we buy otherwise—lots of packaging and plastics. Since the Cashew is 70 #, our delivery arrives weekly.

That means a lot of packaging and a lot of plastic containers. Although the packaging is recyclable, I don’t like the plastic it’s in, but I don’t know what the other options would be. More expensive than other dog foods. Although I think the price is absolutely worth it for our dog, it is more expensive than the packaged dry food. But you are paying for the high-quality ingredients and the delivery service.

Free Shipping

Something else that I love about Pet Plate subscriptions, and I’m sure you do too, is that they offer free shipping. Considering this is a continuous delivery subscription, it will save you a lot of money which you can reinvest in other aspects.
